Lago uses web services to facilitate the sharing of information with a local community of systems, managed by disparate agencies. Each agency defines what information they are going to share by 'publishing' the content within Lago repository.

'Subscribing' agencies are able to 'view' this information from within their systems. They can also 'pull' information down into their system(s) in order to avoid double keying of information or two update their existing records. Lago represents real-time information exchange and validation on a controlled basis with the main historical records still being help and maintained by individual agencies.
