GenIE provides a common layer to interface between SCADA and Telemetry systems, including CSE Servelec's SCOPE-Xtel and databases such as Oracle/MSSQL.

GenIE consists of a common core that provides a framework upon which the specific external interfaces, (Flow forecasting systems, data models, internal reporting etc) can be built.

By providing a centralised solution, GenIE adopts a strong policy of software reuse using a combination of high-level Object Oriented languages and component-based architectures.

To provide specific interfacing to disparate external systems, a set of services are provided by the GenIE Core, which can be used to build a set of Specific Interfaces. Each Specific Interface can provide the data processing and file transfer requirements of that interface.
