Trust Commended for Innovative Use of
EPR
RiO users, the Somerset Partnership NHS & Social Care Trust,
have recently had an extremely positive Healthcare Commission Clinical
Governance Review, achieving an assessment of 3 on a 4 point scale
in the Use of Information domain. The Trust have been commended
on their innovative use of the electronic patient record, their
approach being termed "innovative and pioneering".

The trust is one of the first in the country to have developed an
electronic patient record (EPR) which supports performance monitoring,
clinical governance and healthcare delivery. This is exemplary practice
as the EPR is being used as a basis for improving standards and
ensuring that care is centred around service users' needs...the
investment in this technology is visionary and pioneering."
