Major Pipeline Project Awarded to UK Systems Integrator

Leading systems integrator, CSE Servelec, has further strengthened its position as a leading supplier of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems with the announcement recently that it has won another major contract from the pipeline industry.

The two part order, awarded by Moscow based Stroytransgaz, will see CSE Servelec develop, manufacture and deliver the $1m (USD) Arab Gas Pipeline SCADA System.

Part 1 of the project, scheduled for operation in April 2007, will consist of the SCADA system equipment and RTUs for five locations. Part 2 of the operation will add a further 9 RTUs and will be delivered by the end of May 2007.

The SCADA system will provide the control and monitoring facilities for the 324 km gas pipeline constructed from the Jordan-Syrian border to the Al Rayan gas collecting station. The main SCADA system will be located at the Fiscal Metering Station (FMS) near Deir Ali and interfaces to RTU data collection units located at Block Valve stations along the pipeline.

The SCADA system will include controls, metering systems and interfacing to the existing SCADA and telecommunications system of the Gas Co-Ordination Centre near Homs.

SCADA functions are provided by the CSE Servelec SCOPE-X package interfaced to Kingfisher RTU's. Additionally, the system includes a Solid State Safety system based on the well proven HIMA equipment.
