FIVE PCTs in Leeds to Implement RiO
CSE Servelec has been awarded a major contract to migrate several
systems to RiO, the web based clinical information system, in five
Primary Care Trusts in Leeds. Over two thousand clinicians will
access the system, many of them mobile, from locations across the
city.
RiO is the ideal solution for working efficiently in a mobile setting
over GPRS as it has very low bandwidth requirements. This means
that the system supports a variety of mobile intermediate care professionals,
ranging from District Nurses, Health Visitors and Occupational therapists
to CPNs and Podiatrists.
Commenting on the project, Lynton Tremayne, Director of Health
Informatics, said "RiO's modern web based architecture makes
it the perfect solution for all staff and for integration with the
National Programme for IT and the NHS Care Record Service".
The Leeds PCTs aim was to select an information system that would
support the 2,000 clinicians in their daily tasks and improve the
quality of patient care. The award of the contract confirms RiO
as the system of choice for community based clinical staff in Primary
Care.
